The Valparaiso Crusaders clinched the Horizon League's outright title in their last regular-season game Saturday, and they'll take the No. 1 seed headed into this week's conference tournament.
The Crusaders, who finished 23-7 and 12-3 in league play, clinched the conference title convincingly Saturday with a 75-56 win at the Green Bay Phoenix. Valparaiso has now won two Horizon League regular-season titles in two seasons under head coach Bryce Drew. Valparaiso's 19-point win Saturday avoided a three-way tie for first place in the conference.
The Detroit Titans, which was the Horizon League's NCAA tournament representative last season, finished second in the standings at 11-4. Both Valparaiso and the Titans earned byes to the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament.
One game behind Detroit was third-place Green Bay. The Wright State Raiders were fourth at 9-6.
