Creighton managed to snare the No. 1 seed in the Missouri Valley Conference on Saturday, as Doug McDermott put up 41 points to lift his team to a 91-79 win over Wichita State. It was a winner take-all game, as both teams entered the game with a 12-5 conference record and hopes for the No. 1 seed.
It's Creighton's first MVC regular season title since 2001, and they'll enter the 37th MVC postseason tourney as the No. 1 seed for the eighth time. They sport an overall record of 24-7, the same as Wichita State.
The No. 3 spot belongs to Northern Iowa, who finished with an 18-13 record overall and an 11-7 conference record. Spots four and five were also decided on Saturday, as Evansville and Indiana State faced off for the right to be No. 4. Evansville took that game handily, with an 84-68 victory.
