SEC basketball standings 2013: Florida ready to clinch title

The Gators are a win away from clinching their second SEC championship in three years.

The Florida Gators earned at least a share of the SEC regular-season championship over the weekend, now leading the Alabama Crimson Tide and Kentucky Wildcats by two games with two games to go.

Florida, which is currently ranked No. 8 in the Associated Press top 25, is 13-3 in SEC play and will finish its regular season with a home game Wednesday against the Vanderbilt Commodores and on the road Saturday versus Kentucky.

Alabama missed an opportunity to make a move Saturday when it lost 64-52 to the Gators. Kentucky lost a game in the standings after a 73-60 loss at the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday.

The Ole Miss Rebels and Missouri Tigers are now tied for fourth in the league standings after Ole Miss' stunning 73-67 road loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday. Fourth place is important because the top four seeds in the SEC tournament earn first-round byes.
