Purdue held the Badgers to 41 percent shooting in the 69-56 victory, and Byrd hit 6-of-9 three-pointers.
Wisconsin led by as many as 13 points in the first half, but the Boilermakers cut into the lead to trail only 36-31 at halftime. Bo Ryan's team built the lead back to 42-33 with 17 minutes to play, but from there, Purdue went on a 21-3 run over the next eight minutes to take a nine-point lead.
In the second half, Wisconsin shot just 30 percent from the floor and gave up six turnovers that led to 10 Purdue points. Failed ball movement saw the Badgers shoot 0-for-12 from three-point range in the second half and 6-for-26 for the game. They only had nine total assists on the day.
Jared Berggren led the Badgers with 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Purdue's Ronnie Johnson had seven assists, and Terone Johnson added 16 points. Sadi Marcius came off the bench with an energetic 10 points, four rebounds and two steals for coach Matt Painter's team.
