The Gonzaga Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in the country for the first time in school history.
For the first time in school history, the Gonzaga Bulldogs top the AP Top 25. Gonzaga rose to the top of the rankings after previous No. 1 Indiana lost to Minnesota on Feb. 26.
Gonzaga received 51 first-place votes, while Indiana got seven and landed at No. 2 overall. Duke received five first-place votes and stayed at No. 3 in the rankings after losing to Virginia, but beating Miami during the week. Georgetown was the only other team to receive first-place votes, earning two and coming in at No. 5 overall. Kansas did not get any first-place votes, but earned the No. 4 ranking.
Marquette moved up the most spots of any team in the Top 25, rising from No. 22 to No. 15. Oregon climbed five spots, moving up from No. 24 to No. 19. VCU and UCLA came in at No. 21 and No. 23 after not being ranked last week.
While those teams moved up in the rankings, several slipped. Arizona fell the most spots of any one team, dropping from No. 11 to No. 18. Syracuse also saw a significant drop, falling from 12th to 17th. Wisconsin dropped five spots thanks to the Badgers' home loss to unranked Purdue, slipping from No. 17 to No. 22. And Memphis barely stayed in the Top 25, falling from 19th to 25th. Butler and Louisiana Tech both fell out of the Top 25 completely.
