The Iowa State Cyclones topped the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 87-76, in a big Wednesday night matchup.
Iowa State jumped off to a big lead early, at one point leading as big as 15 points. They went into the locker room up, 39-29. Oklahoma State struggled finding the bucket, unable to make a single three-point shot in the first half.
The Cowboys found their pulse in the second half thanks to Marcus Smart, who finished with 24 points, eight rebounds and five steals. At one point, Oklahoma State pulled within three points late in the game, but a Cyclones 8-0 run effectively sealed the game.
This is a big boost to Iowa State's resume, and they are considered one of the bigger bubble teams in the nation. They now have 10 conference wins and three victories over Top 50 teams. A good showing in the Big 12 tournament should be enough to punch their ticket to the dance.
