Half of the semifinals in the Atlantic Sun are set with the other two quarterfinals to be played on Thursday.
The first two quarterfinals in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament were played on Wednesday with the top two seeds advancing; their opponents are to be determined in Thursday's quarterfinals.
Mercer and Florida Gulf Coast are considered the favorites, but any one of the four teams playing on Thursday could give them a challenge in the semifinals on Friday.
No. 3 Stetson Hatters vs. No. 6 East Tennessee State Buccaneers - 2:30 p.m., ESPN3
The winner of this game will advance to face Florida Gulf Coast in the semifinals. Stetson (14-15, 11-7) split the regular season series with East Tennessee State (10-21, 8-10) and both games went down the wire. The Hatters won the first contest 72-70 and the Bucs took the second game 62-61 with the road team winning each contest. Both teams split their regular season series with Florida Gulf Coast as well.
No. 5 Jacksonville Dolphins vs. No. 4 USC Upstate Spartans - 8:30 p.m., ESPN3
The Spartans (15-16, 9-9) and Dolphins (14-17, 9-9) finished with very similar records in the regular season. They split their regular season meetings, with the home team taking each game. The winner of their next meeting will move on to the semifinals to take on Mercer. USC Upstate lost both their games against Mercer in the regular season, but Jacksonville managed a split.
