2013 Sun Belt Conference Tournament schedule and bracket: Middle Tennessee looks to keep things rolling

Stephen Dunn

Middle Tennessee enters the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on a 16-game winning streak and as the favorite to win. But they call it March Madness for a reason.

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament rolls on today after a somewhat uneventful first round of action. Troy was the only team to pull off an upset, and it did so in dramatic fashion. The Trojans needed overtime to come from behind and take down Florida Atlantic and get coach Don Maestri win No. 500 for his career.

The dramatic finish to the first round sets the stage for an interesting slate of round two matchups on Saturday. Middle Tennessee is the runaway favorite to win the conference tournament at the No. 1 seed. The Blue Raiders went 19-1 in conference play this season and 27-4 overall, establishing themselves as one of the best mid-majors in the country this season. They enter the tournament one a 16-game winning streak and had a first-round bye after finishing five games ahead of the next best team in the conference.

Four games are on the schedule for Saturday's quarterfinal action, which will lineup the matchups for the semifinals on Sunday. ESPN will air the Sun Belt Conference Championship on Monday night.

Here's Saturday's full schedule of games. Check out the full tournament braket here. The entire tournament is taking place in Hot Springs, Ark.
