The 2013 Women's NCAA Tournament is down to just four teams. On Sunday, they will begin playing for the chance to play in the National Championship on Tuesday night.
On one side of the bracket, the No. 5 seed Louisville Cardinals will face the No. 2 seed California Golden Bears. Louisville got to the Final Four by pulling the biggest upset of the tournament when knocking off Brittney Griner and the top-seeded Baylor Bears. As for California, they narrowly edged four-seeded Georgia in the Elite Eight, 65-62, to reach the national semifinals.
The other side of the bracket pits two powerhouse programs with history. No. 1 seed Notre Dame reached the Final Four after cruising through their region, winning every game by at least double digits. Top-seeded Connecticut has experienced a similar fate thus far, and they won their Elite Eight matchup with Kentucky by 30 points. In the Big East Tournament, the Irish defeated the Huskies in thrilling fashion, 61-59.
Louisville and Cal are set to play at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 7 in New Orleans. Notre Dame and Connecticut will play at 8:30 p.m. ESPN will televise both games.
Here is an updated bracket.
