The Andrew Wiggins era begins at Kansas

USA TODAY Sports

The prized recruit is in Lawrence and already causing a stir.

Andrew Wiggins is the enormously talented basketball recruit who chose to play for the Kansas Jayhawks after a drawn-out and highly secretive recruiting battle that spanned his last two years of high school. If you aren't familiar with him already, you soon will be. Wiggins is finally on campus and going through summer practices in Lawrence, and his presence is creating quite a stir.

Here's a look at what Wiggins saw when he met the media as a Jayhawk for the first time.

Wiggins' unusually low-key recruiting process gave the basketball world a first look at his quiet demeanor, but for whatever discomfort he gets from dealing with media, it's clear to anyone paying attention he has all the tools of a star in the making. Wiggins would have been a lock to the be the No. 1 overall pick in this NBA draft if high school players were allowed to enter, and is the odds-on favorite to go No. 1 in what's shaping up to be a strong 2014 draft class.

Why all the hype? It's because he can fly through the air like this with a graceful ease.
