Kansas vs. San Diego State final score: Skylar Spencer pushes Aztecs past Jayhawks

Andrew Wiggins and Co. didn't have enough and fell to the San Diego State Aztecs at home, which was Kansas' first home loss to a non-conference opponent in 68 games.

Behind 13 points and six blocks from forward Skylar Spencer, the San Diego State Aztecs moved to 12-1 on the season with a stunning 61-57 win on Sunday over the Kansas Jayhawks in Allen Fieldhouse. No. 16 Kansas lost its first home game in 68 contests against non-conference opponents.

The No. 21 Aztecs smothered Andrew Wiggins and his teammates with their length, holding them to 30 percent shooting for the game. Wiggins led the Jayhawks with 14 points and fellow freshman Joel Embiid added 12 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks.

Spencer got help from Aztec teammates Josh Davis, who scored 10 to go with 14 rebounds, and guard Xavier Thames, who added 16 points.

Steve Fisher's SDSU squad has now beaten three top-25 opponents on the season with their only loss on the year coming Nov. 14 to the now-No. 1 Arizona Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Bill Self's team moves into Big 12 play against Oklahoma on Wednesday with a disappointing 9-4 record. The Jayhawks have lost to Villanova, Colorado and then-No. 19 Florida and only have a single resume-building win over Duke to show off after non-conference play.

Kansas will face a tough road in conference play. By ranking, it is only the fourth-best team entering conference action and will battle with Oklahoma State, Baylor and Iowa State for Big 12 supremacy.

San Diego State has an easier road ahead as the outright favorite in the Mountain West Conference.
