The fourth-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers are set to take on the fifth-seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Competing in the West Region, both teams are coming off impressive regular seasons and feel they have a good chance to make a deep run.
Their runs started off on the right foot when Notre Dame took down the Princeton Tigers and West Virginia bested the Bucknell Bison in the opening round of March Madness.
Saturday’s game is set for 12:10 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by CBS in the United States. A live stream will be available for the game at the NCAA website, which also carries online streams of all the other games. Login credentials from a cable or satellite provider are required to access the streams.
West Virginia and Notre Dame are both former Big East rivals, and while there isn’t a ton of animosity there, these are two of the best programs in the country. West Virginia, now in the Big 12, had to grind out a narrow 86-80 victory over Bucknell in its opener.
Notre Dame, now in the Atlantic Coast Conference, took an even narrower victory over Princeton, winning by just a two-point margin, 60-58.
