Oh Yeah, The Armor Won Again

With three of their best players in Nets camp and another in Trail Blazers camp, the Springfield Armor would appear to be at a disadvantage. Not so. For the second time in two nights, the short-ended Armor won, beating the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in overtime, and for the second time, Lance Hurdle led them.

Nets Sign Rookies, Camp Invites

The Nets have announced the signings of their two rookies, MarShon Brooks and Jordan Williams as well as three Springfield Armor players, Dennis Horner, Jerry Smith and JamesOn Curry, as training camp invites.

Armor Win Without Camp Invitees

ESPN Dallas reports that the Mavericks top free agent target is the Nets' Brandan Wright, who went from lottery pick to oft-injured bench player before being traded to the Nets at the deadline. Wright, a 6'10" forward, is still only 23 years old. He had said during the season and off-season that he wanted to return.

Three Armor Players Getting Invites

JamesOn Curry, a 6'4" shooting guard; Jerry Smith, a 6'2" point guard; and Dennis Horner, a 6'9" stretch forward from Atlantic City, are expected to get invitations to Nets training camp, reports The Steal Bottom, the Armor fan site. The site quotes "a source close to the situation" and adds that a fourth player, Jeff Foote could join them.

Armor To Provide Camp Invitees

A Springfield Armor fan site reports that two of the team's players, JamesOn Curry and Jeff Foote, are likely to be called up to train with the Nets. Neil Donah of The Steal Bottom suggests that the Nets have already have been in touch with the Armor about the call-ups.

Fourth Quarter Is Armor's Friend

After a furious finish failed on Friday night, another helped the Armor win for the second time in three games Saturday. The Armor outscored the Maine Red Claws, 26-14 over the final seven and a half minutes, led by former Louisville guard Jerry Smith, who scored 14 of his 18 points in the final quarter.
