Stefon Diggs is one of the nation's fastest recruits, but he's been slow to narrow his list of prospective schools.

Stefon Diggs is one of the top recruits in the country. Starring for Good Counsel in Olney, Md., Diggs earned an invite to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, and impressed all week during practices. The 6'0", 190-pound Diggs possesses excellent speed and adequate size to impress at the receiver position.

And while his status as an elite recruit is certain, his recruitment is anything but. Diggs told ESPN that he has no idea where he will play his college ball, and is planning to wait until after signing day to make his decision:

"I don’t have a leader or top five or anything like that," Diggs said Tuesday night. "I’m wide open, and I’m planning on waiting until after signing day to make my final decision."

Apparently Diggs really is wide open with his recruitment. He'll visited Cal on December 2nd and will visit Auburn this weekend. Diggs had three remaining official visits, and in addition to Cal and Auburn, he also likes Florida, USC, Notre Dame, Virginia, Ohio State and, thanks to the hire of offensive coordinator and ace D.C. recruiter Mike Locksley, Maryland.

Florida was once considered the leader in the pursuit of Diggs' services, but the departure of Charlie Weis fouled things up a bit. One new factor in Diggs' recruitment by the Gators is Florida's hire of offensive coordinator Brent Pease from Boise State. On Pease, Diggs told The Gainesville Sun:

"I know he likes to throw the ball a lot, so I guess we got somebody good," said the standout from Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney, Md.

"He has a great offense from what I’ve seen," said Diggs, the nation’s No. 8 overall prospect and second-best receiver according to Rivals. "The first thing I think of is Kellen Moore. He’s a great quarterback and he’s in a good system. That’s the type of system I wanna play in and be familiar with."

"I just wanna see how they’re gonna implement me in the system and how they’re gonna run things next year. I don’t wanna throw a bunch of questions at him because he just got the job. I’m sure he’ll give me the run down when I visit. I’m just looking forward to meeting him."

Diggs is one of the fastest players in the country and will make an immediate impact on the team with which he eventually signs.
