Tiger-on-Tiger recruiting theft in the SEC, as Auburn plunders LSU for Patrick Miller.
Update: Reporter Shea Dixon says this is related to LSU not having scholarship space for Miller to enroll early. LSU's loss is Auburn's gain.
Here from ESPN 760 is Miller's coach explaining how it went down:
Original Story: In a shocking development, top LSU recruit Patrick Miller has enrolled at Auburn, per Bryan Matthews of 247 Sports:
"BREAKING: 4-star OT Patrick Miller, previously committed to LSU, has enrolled at Auburn"
Miller plays for West Palm beach Dwyer (Fla.) and had committed to LSU in September. Miller stands 6'7" and weighs 280 pounds, growing a lot since his sophomore year in which he was quite skinny. He's rated as a four-star prospect by Yahoo!, ESPN, Scout and 247 Sports.
Miller played left tackle for Dwyer, helping his team to the state semi-finals, before falling to Manatee.
He won't be an instant-impact player for Auburn, but does have significant potential. Miller held multiple SEC offers. His enrollment at Auburn is binding, and his recruitment is over. This is very surprising since Auburn doesn't have an offensive coordinator at this point.
Miller is Auburn's 16th commitment of the 2012 class.
