VIDEO: Eddie Goldman Commits To Florida State Seminoles Over Auburn

Eddie Goldman, the top defensive tackle recruit in the country, has committed to the Florida State Seminoles over the Auburn Tigers. Goldman is truly a dominant player for Friendship Collegiate Academy (Washington, D.C.). He has over 30 scholarship offers including Florida State, Auburn, Alabama, USC, Miami, Tennessee and USC.

Goldman is a solid 6'4" and 310 pounds. It's rare to see a freshman that size without sloppy body composition, but he certainly has it. Goldman plays with quickness and excellent power. He seems to have an understanding of the position and clearly works on his game outside of practice.

Much like LSU's Anthony Johnson and FSU's Timmy Jernigan of the 2011 class, Goldman should be an instant contributor from the moment he steps on the field. It's tough to start as a freshman defensive tackle, but Goldman should be in line to see significant snaps. He does need to work on playing with a consistent level of effort.

Via ESPNU, video of big and dapper Goldman beaming after the announcement. This moment was followed by footage of FSU's coaches high-fiving haphazardly in their war room:

Eddie Goldman Focusing On Alabama, Florida State, Auburn and Miami

Eddie Goldman is the top defensive tackle recruits in the country. Starring for Washington D.C.'s Friendship Academy, Goldman holds more than 40 offers from BCS schools, including Alabama, LSU, Florida State, USC, Ohio State, Clemson, Penn State, Maryland, Michigan, Oregon, Miami and Florida. Goldman has handled the recruiting process in a professional manner and recently spoke with SB Nation about his recruitment.

Goldman recently participated in the Under Armour All-America Game. "There's been so much competition. It's been great," said Goldman.

Goldman had already taken official visits to Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Miami. With only one official visit left (recruits are allowed a maximum of five), he was considering a visit to Clemson, Maryland or Cal. "I might go. I'm not sure," said Goldman. As of now, Golden has not scheduled another official visit.

Goldman has a strong bond with two of the coaches recruiting him. "I like coach Odell [Haggins] at Florida State. We have a good relationship. I like coach Sal [Sunseri] at Alabama. He's a real dude."

Note: Sunseri has since left Alabama to take the defensive coordinator job at Tennessee.

How important is a a favorable depth chart to Goldman? Apparently, not very much. "[I'm] not worried about it. I just have to go play and earn my spot," said Goldman.

Goldman plans to sign on signing day, though he could sign sooner if his mind is made up.
