Column: Dorial Green-Beckham Appreciates Missouri Fans Keeping It Together

Dorial Green-Beckham is perhaps the most coveted recruit in the country. The 6'6", 220 pound wide receiver out of Missouri holds offers from every major team in the country. But Green-Beckham rarely does interviews, and when he does, he doesn't reveal much. But one writer did manage to catch up with 'DGB' in person. And as St. Louis columnist Bryan Burwell found out, Green-Beckham is really special.

Burwell went to cover Green-Beckham in a basketball tournament when he realized that many Missouri partisans would be there. But instead of acting like maniacs, the Missouri fans held themselves together. And that seemed to please DGB:

"I kind of like that they didn't get too fired up," Green-Beckham said. "They weren't trying to distract me from what I had to do in the game. Wherever they came from, whether it was Columbia or St. Louis or back home, I thought they did pretty good. That gives me comfort in knowing, ‘OK, they're cool. They're not going to bother me while I'm in a game, trying make me float out mentally from what I should be doing to pay attention to what they're doing.'"

Green-Beckham has a top five of Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama, but most expect him to choose from one of the former three.
