Joshua Garnett
Stanford picked up an excellent offensive line prospect in Garnett
Joshua Garnett, one of the top offensive line recruits in the country, has committed to the Stanford Cardinal. Garnett stars for Puyallup (Wa.) High School. The 6'5", 300-pound Garnett holds over 20 offers, including Stanford, California, Michigan, Miami and Notre Dame. Ultimately, Garnett narrowed his list to Stanford, Michigan and Notre Dame, before cutting Notre Dame. This is an excellent pickup for Stanford.
All of the major scouting services regard Garnett as a high four-star type prospect. He's absolutely one of the ten best offensive line recruits in the country. Perhaps his biggest strength is his lack of a glaring weakness. Garnett isn't particularly amazing at any one element, but does seem to do everything well. I also like that he doesn't play down to his competition. Garnett plays with good balance, moves well laterally, and bends at the knees and not the waist.
After the Under Armour game, Garnett spoke with SB Naton about what he wants in a school.
Garnett could be a multi-year starter for the Cardinal.
