Will Latu, the top junior college offensive lineman in the country, is no longer committed to the Auburn Tigers, and will visit the Florida State Seminoles per a report from the St. Pete Times:
Latu has re-opened his recruiting after a poor academic semester in the fall left him unable to qualify to enroll at Auburn, where he had verbally committed in July, in time to join the team for the summer workouts.
He said he failed some classes in the fall, and while he still expects to graduate in the spring, making up those classes to be eligible in the SEC would take up half his summer.
"It's just a whole bunch of hassle,'' he said. "I'm not saying I can't do it, but with another school I can graduate in May and be there in June,'' said Latu. "If I were to stay with Auburn I wouldn't graduate until the summer and not get there until August, and everything would be rushed.''
Latu, originally from the Bay Area, attended Gibbs High School. He didn't qualify out of high school and went to the College of the Canyons. He then committed to West Virginia before decommitting and committing to Auburn.
Latu is 6'5", 320 pounds and has good power and quickness for his size.

Sooners Gain Commitment From Top JUCO Offensive Lineman Will Latu
The Oklahoma Sooners picked up a big commitment, both in the figurative and literal sense, this weekend just days before National signing day snagging 6'5" 315 pound JUCO offensive tackle Will Latu. Latu had been an Auburn commitment, and had looked into attending Florida State, but it is thought that neither school could find a way to get Latu admitted due to his academics. Oklahoma apparently thinks it has a shot.
Crimson and Cream Machine has more on the Sooners 20th verbal commitment for the 2012 class.
Latu is the top JUCO offensive lineman and a Top 10 overall player according to the latest JUCO rankings. Latu had been considering Auburn, Arizona State, Arkansas State, and Utah before committing to Oklahoma.
