It was a great night of showcasing the top recruits in the country Thursday night in the Under Armour All-America Game in St. Pete, Fla. Team Blur defeated Team Highlight 49-16 in a game dominated by the defensive lines and recruits attending Texas, Alabama, Florida and Florida State.
Florida State quarterback commitment Jameis Winston was named the game MVP, completing 7 of 10 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Winston thanked God for his success via shout-out. One of his big throws came to Alabama commitment Amari Cooper to open the scoring in the first quarter.
Florida commitment Marcus Maye had five tackles and a blocked punt to help stretch the lead for Team Blur.
There were six commitments made during the game. Safety Lucas Thompson opened things by committing to the East Carolina Pirates. Running back Wes Brown followed by choosing the Maryland Terrapins over Miami and Vanderbilt. Defensive end Channing Ward chose Ole Miss over Mississippi State and other SEC schools. Defensive back Chaz Elderchose South Carolina over Georgia. And then Alabama picked up commitments from Baltimore athlete Cyrus Jones and Louisiana athlete Landon Collins.
