The Navy Midshipmen (3-3) are known for running the triple-option, but on Friday night against the the Central Michigan Chippewas (2-4) they did most of their damage through the air. Freshman quarterback Keenan Reynolds, who was starting the first game of his career, threw for three touchdowns en route to a 31-13 victory.
Two of those touchdown passes went to running back Gee Gee Green, who hauled in scores of 19 and 41 yards. To go along with those two catches for 60 yards, Green also added 39 yards rushing on seven carries. Navy didn't exactly morph into West Virginia, though -- they still ran the ball 62 times for 238 yards, though that only comes out to 3.8 yards per carry.
Central Michigan hung around until the mid-third quarter, when Army put up two touchdowns in less than two minutes. The Chippewas offense just couldn't match Navy -- the Midshipmen defense held Central Michigan to just 221 yards of offense. Their lone touchdown came on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Radcliff to Titus Davis with less than a minute remaning in the first half.
Box Score Hero: Reynolds was responsible for 193 of Navy's 372 yards. He threw for 134 yards and rushed for 59 on 24 carries.
Rankings Ramifications: Neither Navy or Central Michigan are anywhere near the Top 25, and that won't change unless the Midshipmen go on a long winning streak.
But Did They Cover? Nope. Central Michigan was a one-point favorite.

Next Week's Schedule: Navy will visit the Indiana Hoosiers next Saturday, while the Chippewas will host the Ball State Cardinals.
