After taking official visits to Oklahoma and Texas A&M this fall, 2013 Plano (TX) Prestonwood Christian linebacker Mike Mitchell is in the process of setting up a journey to Ohio State to finally see the Buckeyes.
Considered a Buckeye lean during the summer due to his longtime appreciation for the coaching of Urban Meyer, especially when Meyer was at Florida and Mitchell was a Gator fan, the trip could be the biggest of his recruitment, as Ohio State was still the leader after his trip to A&M.
It had been tentatively set for Thanksgiving weekend, but that is now in jeopardy:
No official visit has been setup yet between 4* LB Mike Mitchell and #OhioState a lot depends on the result of his playoff game on Saturday

The playoff game will be between Prestonwood and Concordia Lutheran. For Ohio State fans interested in the possible result, neither team is exactly on fire at this point of the season, with Prestonwood trying to overcome the recent loss of the younger Mitchell brother, Mickey, who injured his ACL. As for Concordia Lutheran, they sit at 3-7 on the season and lost four straight games before registering a victory over Kelly Catholic in their last contest.
A win would likely keep Mitchell from being able to travel the weekend of Thanksgiving, while a loss would obviously end his season and high school career, possibly allowing the visit to go down.
In addition to the trip to Ohio State, Mitchell also plans on taking his other two official visits, one to Oregon and the other to Florida State. He has not yet scheduled either of those and it isn't out of the realm of possibility that he could end his recruitment while in Columbus, whenever he happens to make it there.
