Star linebacker Hoza Scott - Wescott Eberts (SB Nation)
The La Porte linebacker has had a lot going on this season, but has not changed his leaderboard.
A concussion. A suspension. Distractions.
2014 La Porte (TX) linebacker Hoza Scott has dealt with them all this season.
A four-star prospect who has held down the top spot in the 2014 LSR since it debuted in the middle of March, Scott holds offers from a variety of top programs, including Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, and Florida State.
The concussion limited the 6-3, 220-pounder at the start of the season, as did his suspension for La Porte's first game due to an unspecified violation of team rules. All the attention forced a higher level of concentration on the task at hand -- delivering the hard hits and big-time plays that define him as one of the top 2014 prospects in the entire country.

One thing that hasn't changed is his list of favorites. After rumors that he was going to commit to Texas A&M during the spring, Scott held off on a decision, but hasn't moved the Aggies from their longtime spot at the top of his list, according to multiple reports.
Texas and LSU trail, with Alabama also in the mix. Notice a trend? Yeah, Scott has an affinity for the Southeastern Conference.
Both the Longhorns and Tigers need to make up some ground in a hurry with a decision looming in the near future. If either school could get him on campus in the next several weeks, they could help close the gap, as Texas received a significant post-visit bump after Scott visited for the first time in the spring.
According to a Twitter report, Texas assistant coach Major Applewhite went by La Porte within the last several days to check in on Scott, though it isn't clear whether the Longhorns will be receiving a visit as a result.
As he has for some time, Scott plans to make a decision in December after the completion of his junior season and, at this time, it's hard to see him choose a school other than A&M unless there's a major change in his recruitment.
