Robert Nkemdiche in Oxford - Screen cap by @WTVandever
Former Clemson commit Robert Nkemdiche, the top recruit in the country, will soon commit, his Ole Miss linebacker brother said after an Egg Bowl win.
In October, SB Nation's Steven Godfrey told you in detail how Ole Miss was in very good position to land the commitment of the No. 1 national recruit, Georgia defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, thanks in part to its new star linebacker, Denzel Nkemdiche. Not long after that, Nkemdiche decommitted from Clemson, along with a high school teammate, and was last seen storming Oxford with his brother after an Egg Bowl win.
And now, from the Clarion Ledger:
"Robert told me personally, I don't know if I'm supposed to say it, but he told me he's committing in two weeks," Denzel Nkemdiche told reporters. "That's just the honest truth. That's what he told me and he wouldn't lie to his brother."
That's right around the time we'd expected him to announce. Hang on tight, because this story could still have plenty of drama left in it, but everything's lining up about as we'd pictured it right now.
I've been told Robert Nkemdiche will commit to Ole Miss, with an announcement coming as soon as next week.
