Justin Manning has set decision date

Now that the senior season for 2013 Dallas (TX) Kimball defensive tackle Justin Manning is over, he's ready to choose between his three finalists -- Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas A&M.

The announcement will come on December 7th ($) in a ceremony that may take place at his high school at the end of the school day. The specific details do not appear to be finalized.

A fourth school had been in the mix until recently ($):

LSU told me that they had defensive tackles and they no longer had a scholarship for me. Now I am trying to make my decision between A&M, TCU and OU. I am not sure when I am going to make it, but I am trying to make it and hopefully I will make it soon.

The Tigers accepted commitments from Lincoln (NE) Southwest defensive lineman Christian LaCouture and Hope Mills (NC) South View defensive tackle Greg Gilmore in the early part of November.

Among his three finalists, Manning is a prospect looking for comfort level above all else.

Oklahoma certainly has a high level of familiarity since his older brother played there:

OU is a great school and it feels like home to me. When my brother (DeMarcus Granger) played there I was around the program a lot and I was always around Coach Shipp it seemed. I feel very comfortable at OU. I have a lot of chemistry with Coach Shipp. I like OU a lot and I will go where ever God puts me.

What about Texas A&M and TCU?

I have been talking to Coach Beaty (David) at Texas A&M for a while and we are real cool. At TCU Coach (Clay) Jennings is my recruiting coach and the coach that I talk to the most. He is real laid back too.

In a matter of days, one of those three programs will land one of the top defensive tackles in the country as a three-technique prospect with the ability to disrupt offenses by using his quickness to slice into opposing backfields.
