A top 2013 defensive lineman has now made his third commitment, one that will likely be his final.
What a long, strange trip it's been for 2013 Lincoln (NE) Southwest defensive lineman Christian Lacouture, who committed to become an LSU Tiger Saturday while on an official visit to Baton Rouge for the game against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
A former Texas A&M commit, Lacouture decommitted from Nebraska last week, announcing a planned trip to LSU that seemed likely to result in the third commitment of his recruitment. And it did, as Lacouture gave his pledge while on his official visit with his mother.
The 6-5, 270-pound Lacouture is likely to end up as a defensive tackle at the next level and represents a significant addition to the LSU recruiting class as a result. Now the 24th pledge for 2013 (including 2012 signee Avery Johnson), Lacouture may have to play early with the loss of one senior defensive tackle pending and the likely loss of junior Bennie Logan to the NFL. Due to need, Lacouture could be asked to contribute as a freshman, which he will have a better chance of doing since he will enroll early.
Variously ranked as a three-star recruit (ESPN, Rivals) or four-star prospect (Scout, 247Sports), Lacouture held offers from Baylor, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas A&M, and a handful of other schools.
