FSU lands a sleeper at cornerback.

Eddie Jackson, a talented cornerback recruit out of Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson High School, committed to the Florida State Seminoles Wednesday. He is a three-star recruit with offers from Tennessee and SMU.

Jackson is a bit of a late bloomer, and was considerably off the recruiting radar entering the 2012 season. But a very strong senior year, plus an improving academic profile saw him gain interest from several SEC schools, including LSU:

After hearing continuous praise of Jackson, the LSU coaching staff viewed film of the dynamic athlete and sent defensive backs coach Corey Raymond to Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., to visit his school last Friday. Jackson also is hearing from Miami and other BCS programs.

LSU is in the evaluation process with Jackson, but so far it likes what it sees. Jackson played safety for a large part of the season, returning two interceptions for touchdowns. At receiver he led Broward County, one of the most talent-rich counties in Florida, with 12 touchdown catches.

As you can see, his film is quite impressive for a 6'1 or 6'2 (depending on source) athlete. Florida State likes Jackson at cornerback, but he could also play receiver or safety.

Jackson is the 18th commitment of Florida State's 2013 class.
