Did Kansas State find the successor to Colin Klein?

Kansas State's fine tradition of recruiting junior college players continued Thursday as JUCO QB recruit Jake Waters chose the Wildcats over the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Waters is a star for Iowa Western Community College, and also had offers from N.C. State and Houston. He is a solid 6'2 and 212 pounds, with good mobility. This season he threw for 39 touchdowns and only three interceptions.

Kansas State has an obvious opening at the quarterback position, as Heisman finalist Collin Klein is graduating. Waters will be expected to contend for the starting job.

Penn State also has an opening at QB, and Waters' decision makes it increasingly likely that incoming five-star quarterback recruit Christian Hackenberg could win the job, though second-year quarterback Steven Bench will also have something to say about that.
