Top receiver recruit Robert Foster commits to Alabama over Pitt

Dave Martin

Alabama lands another five-star recruit.

Robert Foster, a top receiver recruit, committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide Friday over the Pitt Panthers.

Out of Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley High School, Foster holds offers from all over the country. His top schools, however, were Alabama, Pittsburgh and Ohio State. His final two consisted of the Pitt Panthers and the Crimson Tide. Foster has good speed, excellent leaping ability and body control.

Foster may be impressed with the play of Alabama freshman receiver Amari Cooper, who has amassed 894 yards on 52 catches, including nine touchdowns. Playing time is often important to star receivers, and Foster may believe that he can duplicate the success had by Cooper.

A 6-3, 175-pound receiver ranked as a five-star prospect by 247Sports and Scout, Foster is a national prospect, and even at a place as loaded as Alabama, he should contend for immediate playing time.

The Crimson Tide now has 20 commitments in the class of 2013.
