Feb 1, 2012 - Dalvin Tomlinson, a top defensive line recruit, has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Georgia Bulldogs. Out of McDonough (Ga.) Henry County High School, Tomlinson received more than 30 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, Clemson, Harvard, USC, Tennessee, Michigan and Virginia.
Tomlinson is not only one of the top players in Georgia, but one of the top defensive ends in the country. At 6'3" and 270 pounds, he is uniquely suited to play in the 3-4 defense run by his three top suitors -- Georgia Tech, Georgia and Alabama. Tomlinson is rated four stars by most of the major recruiting services.
Tomlinson is a special recruit. He is the rare top defensive line prospect to also be recruited by schools in the Ivy League, holding a 3.9 GPA. He also plays trumpet, the snare drum, and other instruments. Tomlinson is also a two-time defending state champion wrestler, and his great balance is on display in his football film for Henry County High School.
