Feb 1, 2012 - Avery Young, one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the country, has committed to the Auburn Tigers Over The Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators. Though he's a developmental prospect, the 6'6", 280 pound offensive lineman from Palm Beach (Fla.) Gardens holds offers from much of the SEC. And he's narrowed his list to Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida and Miami. He received plenty of in-home visits, and never did publicly narrow down his list to less than five schools. The major services rate Young as a four-star prospect.
What makes Young so attractive? It could be his NFL bloodlines, as both his father and brother played in the NFL. Or it could be his excellent athleticism. Young does have a big of a narrow frame, but is likely still growing. He should be an excellent pass protector, and if he adds the necessary bulk, could be a very solid run blocker as well for the Tigers.
