Greensboro, NC guard D.J. Reader announced his commitment to play for the Clemson Tigers over the Maryland Terrapins on National Signing Day. He's rated a three star by most recruiting services, with Rivals listing him as the No. 19 guard prospect in the country. Standing 6-foot-3 and 309 pounds, he already boasts plenty of size for the ACC.
Clemson and Maryland were his only two visits, though he also had offers from Auburn, Miami and others. He was expected to choose the Terps over the Tigers, according to a late report.
Reader is yet another fine offensive lineman in a class heavy with them -- the Tigers already have four offensive linemen in the boat, with another expected on Signing Day.
