Will Maryland keep Stefon Diggs home? Follow @SBNationCFB
Stefon Diggs, an explosive receiver recruit, is set to announce his college decision tonight at 6 p.m. from a local Maryland pub. Diggs was scheduled to announce at 10 p.m. on Comcast Sportsnet, but the plans changed last night, as Diggs first altered the time of his announcement, then decided he would not announce on TV, and finally, changed the location of his ceremony.
The choice of venue is potentially quite relevant, as Diggs will be announcing from Looneys Pub -- a local Maryland watering hole and restaurant. How Maryland? The Terrapin coaches tape their coaches shows on location at Looneys.

This late-hour change of venue might indicate that Diggs is indeed leaning to Maryland, something that seemed like a major longshot just a week ago. The moral of this story? Never underestimate Maryland offensive coordinator Mike Locksley on the recruiting trail, and especially not when he is recruiting the D.C. area. It would be a pretty huge shock if Diggs, who does not live in College Park, went out of his way to change his announcement to a Maryland hot spot, and then chose elsewhere. One outlet has even run a story claiming that Diggs is "expected to choose Maryland."
That's not to say that Diggs three other finalists are out of this race. As discussed yesterday, Florida, Ohio State and Auburn have plenty to offer Diggs.
In fact, Diggs tweeted about the Gators late last night:
And former Gator player personnel Guru Mark Pantoni, currently holding the same position at Ohio State, also got in on the act:
With this many power players involved anything can happen.
