Florida lands one of the top linebackers in the 2013 class.
Daniel McMillian, a top linebacker recruit for the 2013 class, has committed to the Florida Gators, according Gator Country. McMillian starts for Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast High School, and helped guide the Buccaneers to the state title game. McMillian also holds offers from Alabama, Florida State, Arkansas, Clemson, Ohio State, Miami, Auburn, South Carolina and others. That's an impressive offer sheet going into one's senior year.
McMilliam is 6'3" and 220 pounds. He is explosive, and like most on First Coast's defense, plays with great energy. McMillian likes to hit is able to change direction, and has a great frame capable of adding an additional 15-20 pounds in a college strength program. McMillian is rated four stars by most services and has a chance to ascend to five-star status with continued development and a solid senior year.
This is a significant commitment for UF not just because McMillian is an excellent prospect, but because rival Florida State has landed most of First Coast's top prospects in the last half decade, six in all.
McMillian is the third commitment of the 2013 class for the Gators, joining defensive tackle Caleb Brantley and running back Adam Lane.
