Matt Dimon Commits To Oklahoma Sooners

Matt Dimon, a defensive end recruit, has committed to the University of Oklahoma. Dimon stars for Katy, Texas, High School. Dimon also held offers from Baylor, Missouri, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt. He stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 252 pounds, which means he will likely play strong-side defensive end, or possibly move inside to play as a three-technique defensive tackle.

Crimson and Cream Machine has more on Dimon's recruitment:

↵
Oklahoma may have found another one of those Texas kids who get overlooked by the larger in-state schools and the Sooners come sweeping in to find an underrated talent. We say that because as of today he is yet to receive a star ranking from Rivals as well as a couple of the other larger recruiting sites. Be that as it may, it's doubtful either Dimon or the OU coaches care much as both seem to be equally as excited with one another.

This could be another example of Texas' limited recruiting class room benefiting Oklahoma.

SB Nation's Texas recruiting analyst, Wescott Eberts, had this to say about Dimon:

↵
↵

He has good size, excellent short-area burst and comes from powerhouse high school. Should have more offers. I Like him as a potential swing guy or power end, have him as 3rd-best defensive end in state, possible top-30 guy in Texas. Underrated.
