Is Alabama no longer the favorite for the nation's top recruit?
Robert Nkemdiche is the top recruit in the country. A defensive end out of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson High School, Nkemdiche holds offers from all of the top schools in the country, including Alabama, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, USC, Clemson, South Carolina, Ole Miss, USC, etc.
The 6'5, 265 pound Nkemdiche moves like a player 30 pounds lighter and plays with the strength of someone much bigger. And he has good instincts as well.
And for a while now, Nkemdiche has been thought to be a lock to the Alabama Crimson Tide. But his coach told Max Preps that isn't necessarily the case:
"You know, at one time, I think that [Alabama being the leader] was the case," he said. "But he's got five schools, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, LSU and Ole Miss and I think he'd be happy at any one of those five."
Tentatively set to decide on May 18 after Grayson's spring game, Nkemdiche is focusing on Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Clemson and Ole Miss -- where his brother is a defensive back.
