Blake McClain Takes Home Defensive Back MVP At NUC Orlando 5-Star Showcase

Blake McClain 2

Blake McClain is one of the better defensive back recruits in Florida.

Blake McClain, a defensive back out of Orlando (Fla.) Winter Park took home the defensive back MVP award over the weekend at the NUC Orlando Five-Star Showcase. McClain showed excellent burst and technique, making several nice pass breakups in 1-on-1 situations. Afterward, McClain spoke with SB Nation about his recruitment.

McClain came it at 5'11" and 191 pounds. He holds a 3.0 GPA and will take his SAT in June. McClain currently holds an offer from USF. But other schools are also showing him interest, even though they have yet to make an offer. "Notre Dame, FSU and Miami are all talking to me," said McClain. McClain also indicated that he would like to hear from Georgia and Florida, as well.

Winter Park is breaking in a new quarterback this season, but McClain feels good about WPHS's chances in 2012. McClain will try to visit as many schools as possible over the summer and participate in other camps as well.
