One of the better performers at the Orlando NUC Five-Star Showcase was Elie Turene. A running back for Loxahatchee (Fla.) Seminole Ridge, Turene has a long frame at 5'11" and 200 pounds. He isn't the most agile prospect, but does have good speed.
I spoke with Turene about his recruitment process and his progress in school. "I have a 3.0 GPA and I take the SAT in April," he said.
Though Turene does not have any offers as of yet, he does plan to participate in the NFTC in Miami, and visit UCF over the summer. Turene did have an impressive Sparq score in Miami, posting a 93.
Turene has good, but not great speed, and decent agility. He'll need to improve his catching of the football to make himself more marketable to colleges, but nonetheless, he should have multiple FBS offers later in the process. He also plays some defensive back for Seminole Ridge.
