Devyn Salmon
Look for Salmon to keep rising.
One of the better performers at the Orlando NUC Five-Star Showcase was Devyn Salmon. A 6-foot-1, 277-pound defensive line prospect out of Plant City (Fla.) High, Salmon's stock is fast on the rise. As an aside, Plant City is not the same school as the more famous Tampa Plant High.
Salmon showed a nice blend of quickness and power in the 1-on-1 moves, but is clearly still learning to play the position. Salmon will probably have to play three-technique in college due to his lack of size.
And he's hearing from several schools.
"Texas A&M, South Florida and Virginia are all talking to me," said Salmon. "And I still want to hear from Auburn."
I pressed him on the Auburn interest.
"There's no connection. None, just always liked them. I could have a good four years there," said Salmon.
Salmon claims a 2.6 GPA and will take his standardized test in June. He plans to attend more training camps this summer, at which SB Nation will catch up with him again.
