Is Recruit Su'a Cravens A Lock For USC?

Stay connected with SB Nation

Su'a Cravens is one the top safety recruits in the country. Out of Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta High School, Cravens stands 6'1" and weighs in at 210 pounds. He is a consensus five-star recruit. For more on his abilities, check out this great scouting report.

Cravens will be making his college choice on June 6, because it is his mom's birthday:

Cravens is considered a strong lean to the USC Trojans, and the timing of this announcement helps to reinforce that. One might think that with the job on the recruiting trail done so far by Jim Mora Jr. and his staff that UCLA might have a shot at Cravens, but the Bruins would probably need to outperform expectations on the field to have a shot. With the decision coming before training camp even starts, UCLA's season won't be a factor.

Cravens is also interested in a few Big Ten schools like Nebraska, Michigan and Ohio State, but the chatter is strong for the Trojans. If Cravens decides to go anywhere else it would be quite the surprise at this point. And SB Nation Los Angeles concurs.
