Chris Hawkins, a top cornerback recruit, committed to the USC Trojans Sunday per numerous published reports. Hawkins stars for Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High School. He's a major recruit, and also holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, California, Colorado, Florida, Houston, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Penn State, Stanford, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Washington and Washington State.
Hawkins had a stellar day at the Los Angeles Nike Camp over the weekend, and ultimately chose USC over Stanford:
"I feel really good, really relieved to get this over with," Hawkins said. "I came out here and went against all the best players in California, Utah and Nevada and everywhere else and I accomplished my goal of getting MVP.
"I decided on SC last night, we had a big family discussion. I was going to go to Stanford at first but then we looked at the whole process and I picked USC."
The 5'11", 175-pound Hawkins has excellent length for the cornerback position, along with good feet and versatility. He is the second commitment of the year for Lane Kiffin and the USC Trojans.
