Larry Fedora gets his perfect spread QB recruit.

Mitch Trubisky, a top quarterback recruit from Mentor (Ohio) High School, committed to North Carolina Sunday according to his Twitter feed. Trubisky stands 6'3 and weighs in at just under 200 pounds. He also claims offers from Alabama, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State and Tennessee, though some of those offers are perhaps less firm than others. Trubisky is a consensus four-star recruit.

Trubisky is a perfect fit for Larry Fedora's spread offense in Chapel Hill. He is an excellent athlete, and can put the ball where it needs to go. It is a bit unorthodox, however, so he will need the throwing lanes created by the spread offense. Trubisky's arm is good, but it doesn't' appear to be elite.

Trubisky spoke with 247sports.com:

"I just went down there and I took my unofficial visit on Saturday and I felt it was the right place and I fell in love with it," Trubisky said.

"It was really a combination of everything. I kept asking myself questions on the recruiting trip. I kept saying yes to everything. I just felt like it was right in my head and the campus is beautiful. I met up with the coaches and they're the type of people I can relate to and learn from them.

"There are great people there and the academics are unbelievable. I think I'm going to go in there and I fit into their type of offense."
