The commitment was expected according to SB Nation's Garnet And Black Attack.
Rolin is a consensus four-star recruit. He's tough, instinctive, athletic, quick, strong, possesses good length, etc. There's a reason he holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Washington and West Virginia.
Rolin stands in at 6'3" and 210 pounds, with plenty of room to add good weight. He can play either inside or outside linebacker for the Gamecocks, who have recently shown an excellent ability to use unique defensive formations to get their playmakers in the best position to succeed.
