Spurrier gets his QB.

Connor Mitch, one of the top quarterback recruits in the country, has committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks. Out of Raleigh, N.C.. Wakefield High School, Mitch claims offers from Alabama, Auburn, N.C. State, Rutgers, South Florida, Syracuse, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and West Virginia. Mitch is rated a three-star recruit by some services and a four-star by others.

Mitch is a prototypical pocket passer at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds. He isn't immobile, but his legs won't be the focus of any offensive attack in the SEC. Mitch is very polished, which could help him earn early playing time at the next level. He has a very good arm and a clean, quick release. I don't know how Mitch reads and analyzes coverage because I have only seen highlights and not game tape, and the highlights don't contain many deep and intermediate throws from which I can form an opinion.
