Robert Foster commitment coming: Bama or Pitt?

Robert Foster, one of the top receiver recruits in the country, will make his college choice Saturday between Alabama and Pitt.

According to his coach, there will be plenty of drama:

"I don't think anybody has an idea of what he's going to do," Lyons said. "I'm not sure he has an idea."

Foster hasn't given any indication of where he'll commit, Lyons said. He previously narrowed his choices to Alabama and Pitt.

Since his recruitment began, Foster hasn't been looking for a coach to tell him how he fits in or that he could play right away. But he wants a school that reminds him of Central Valley.

"He wants that family atmosphere and a closeness in the community," Lyons said. "He likes being a high school student and a high school athlete. There is a comfortableness for him at Central Valley. When he finds the same feeling at a school, that's going to the deciding factor. I'm sure that's what he's been mulling over for the past two to three weeks."

The choice is expected to be Pitt.

Top WR recruit Robert Foster not ready to commit

Robert Foster, perhaps the nation's top receiver recruit, tweeted Thursday that he will hold off on making his commitment.

This announcement followed a string off tweets Wednesday night from Foster that indicated he was ready to commit.

Foster recently took a visit to Alabama was very active in chronicling his visit on Twitter:

Will Pitt's proximity to his Pennsylvania home be enough to keep Foster from committing to the Crimson tide? What do you think? Do you expect him to take visits to schools other than Alabama and Pitt? Let us know your thoughts on Foster in the comment section.

2013 WR Robert Foster Down To Three Schools

One of the top uncommitted prospects in the country, Monaca (PA) Central Valley wide receiver Robert Foster revealed via Twitter in late September that he is down to three finalists -- the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Pittsburgh Panthers.

A 6-3, 175-pound receiver ranked as a five-star prospect by 247Sports and Scout, Foster is a national prospect with offers from many of the major programs around the country. The school that stands out in his top three is the Pittsburgh, the local school that many believe will land the consensus top-25 national player, as the Panthers try to go head-to-head with two of the top programs in the country.

The loss to Youngstown State to start the season probably didn't help the cause for Pittsburgh, nor a loss to rival Cincinnati, but two victories in the last two games have righted the ship somewhat, and recruits don't often make decisions based on nothing more than a loss or two. If anything, the problems scoring at time merely underline how needed Foster is in Pittsburgh.

Foster has taken two visits to Alabama since the spring, but it does not appear that he has lined up any official visits yet.

Considered a raw prospect with elite big-play ability due to his speed and ball skills, Foster is nevertheless raw as a receiver, though that likely would not stop him from contributing early at a school like Pitt that has serious need for threats at the wide receiver position.

From the WPIAL, Foster's recruitment is more significant for the Panthers than just landing a five-star prospect -- as the area produces a significant amount of talent in the Pittsburgh area, making it a priority for the coaching staff.
