Clemson Adds Offensive Tackle And Defensive End Recruits

Stay connected with SB Nation

Clemson continues its excellent run of June recruiting with the addition of verbal commitments from offensive tackle Maverick Morris and defensive end Dane Rogers. As opposed to the commitments secured last week from mega recruits Robert Nkemdiche and Elijah Daniel, Morris and Rogers are rather unheralded.

But that doesn't mean they lack talent.

Here is SB Nation's Shakin' The Southland on Morris:

Theres not any film or perspective on this commitment to give you, except that he's 16 years old and already 6'5 285-290, and was offered personally by The Chad. He supposedly has an athletic upside and plays mean, chews 'bacco and is just a country boy. Morris plays in a loaded area of south Georgia where we typically have a tough time pulling prospects. However, he has no rating by either of the major services.

And Rogers:

The first thing that I’d say about Rogers is that he’s a raw talent, and more of a project End that needs work. His first step is pretty good and his motor runs, but his pad level is way too high. His hand usage is good. If his pads would come down, his strength would register a lot more sacks for him at Crest. He looks a lot like Shaq Lawson to me. I would expect him to redshirt a year before seeing major PT.
