USC lands the nation's top safety recruit.

Su'a Cravens, one the top safety recruits in the country, has committed to the USC Trojans. Out of Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta High School, Cravens stands 6'1" and weighs in at 210 pounds. He is a consensus five-star recruit. He committed to the Trojans over the Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, UCLA Bruins and Ohio State Buckeyes. Cravens also held offers from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.

Cravens is a tremendous combination of size, agility and athleticism. You can read more about his ability in this excellent scouting report from SB Nation contributor Derrell Warren. Cravens should be an immediate contributor on special teams for the Trojans, and there is a strong possibility that he will vie for the starting position as well. USC defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, formerly of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, likely sees Cravens as a more athletic version of former all-pro safety John Lynch.
