Florida State was the lone holdout of the big three in not offering Tampa (Fla.) Hillsborough High School defensive end recruit Jordan Sherit. That changed Thursday evening, as the Seminoles joined the Gators, Hurricanes and a dozen other BCS schools in asking him to play for their school.
Sherit was excited to work out for the coaches at the Jimbo Fisher Camp and show what he can do.
And at 6'4 and 240 pounds, Sherit can do a lot. He is still early in his development, but he should eventually be able to hold 260 or more pounds after working in a college strength program. He profiles as a weak-side defensive end.
Sherit liked a lot about Florida State's defense.
"I like the defense that they play. The defensive ends are the stars and they go after the passer," Sherit said. "But I could also play [3-4 outside linebacker] buck, like at Florida," he added.
Speaking with him before he earned his offer, Sherit said that FSU would be "in there" with some of his other top schools like Florida, Miami, USF and Notre Dame.

Sherit does not expect to many a decision anytime soon.
