Jacob McCrary, a top receiver recruit for the class of 2014, committed to the Florida State Seminoles Friday night.
McCrary stars for Miami Coral Reef High School. He also claims early offers from the Florida Gators, Clemson Tigers, Kansas State Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, USF Bulls and the UCLA Bruins.
McCrary stands 6'0 and weighs in at 175 pounds. He was visiting Florida State for the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp.
SB Nation previously spoke with McCrary in June, when he was visiting for another Fisher camp.
"It's my first time I've been up to Florida State and it's been great. I love the camp, I love the atmosphere, it's been a great learning experience," McCrary said. The coach from which McCrary is picking up pointers is Florida State's Lawrence Dawsey. "Coach Dawsey is an excellent coach. I love how he explains it and breaks it down, so that you really understand what he is talking about. I feel he is one of the best or the greatest receiver coach there is and I like him a lot," McCrary said.
McCrary's commitment saga was strange in that he tweeted that he had committed, but had not actually done so to Florida State's coaches. He then took care of that crucial element of a commitment and became a 'Nole.
He also managed to say that Florida was still in the hunt and that FSU is where he wants to be in less than an hour.
