However, a source tells SB Nation Recruiting that Alexander should not be considered a commitment at this time. It seems there are still some things to be worked out. Those things could include Mackenro's grades, actually speaking with head coach Jimbo Fisher and his brother's interest in the Seminoles.
SB Nation will keep you updated on the situation as it develops.
Mackenro is a three-star safety recruit. He claims offers from Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and West Virginia.
There is much debate as to whether any of the top schools would accept his commitment absent him being eventually joined by his brother, Mackensie. Many do not believe he is an upper-tier BCS caliber player based on his highlights and camp performances. Still, Mackenro told Rivals:
"Most colleges were offering me thinking that Mackensie was going to come with me," he said. "If you want me, you want me. He's going to make his own decision. I love him but at the end of the day we're both trying to make it. Wherever he goes it's fine and if we end up together that would be great but we're not attached at the hip."
Mackenro stars for Immokalee (Fla.) High School. He is listed at 6'0 and 190 pounds. He would be Florida State's 17th commitment of the 2013 class if the 'Noles accept his commitment.
